Arab-Summit in Al-Khartoum
General Mohamed Abd Al-Ghany Al-Gamasy said in his memoirs ( The Arab summit was held in Al-Khartoum, in August 1967. It was a remarkable sign on the way of co-operation among the Arab countries to remove the remains of aggression. The Arab countries in that summit agreed to give an annual economical aids to both Egypt and Jordan about 135 million sterling. 95 million of them are assigned to Egypt as a compensation for loss of the Suez Canal profits, after it had been closed, and the loss of petroleum in Sinai, 40 million sterling were assigned to Jordan to face its commitments. Syria did not have its share for its absence in the summit.
Saudi Arabia paid 50 million sterling, its share in the economical aid, Kuwait paid 55 million, and Libya paid 30 million. )
President Abd Al-Nasser declared his view in the situation saying "we should put in consideration two points, when we discuss the subject of political work to remove the remains of aggression, the first is the military preparation and the second is the economical perseverance, the decision which was taken in the Arab Summit concerning the economical aid undoubtedly will help us so much to hold." - Mohamed Riad memoirs -The foreign minister at that time.
